Description

Our awareness of ourselves is often concentrated int eh front of the body.  Through the technology of asanas as we start to spread our awareness, our consciousness reaches the back body, and also the side body.  While the back of the body can learn to ‘grip’ and support, the sides of the body learn to become broad, giving space to the organs in the abdominal area, and increasing the potential of the organs in the chest area.  The anatomy of the chest area is, in fact, ideally suited to this ‘expansionary process.  The side ribs, through the connections of muscles, ligaments and tendons, have great potential to expand the breadth of the sides of the body.  This session explores some lateral/ side-body actions, followed by a deeply restful Viparitakarani, and ending with breath-work
