Description

Finding the alignment of the wrists, elbows and shoulders in simple actions in order to prepare for intermediate level positions: anantasana and vasistasana.  Imbalances in the arms can manifest in. the region of the shoulders, elbows, or wrist pain.  These conditions are becoming increasingly common in sedentary desk workers due to increased use of devices like mobile phones and laptops.  But it is also common in sportspeople due to the imbalances that set in from overuse of one part of the arm, and neglect of the other. Once these imbalances set in, the discomfort and the pain can manifest anywhere from the shoulder to the fingers.  But the root cause can be corrected by bringing the correct alignment of the shoulders, upper arm and lower arm muscles, and the intervening joints – the elbows and the wrists.

This session focusses more on the shoulders and th armpit area through simpler actions, and then in the intermediate level asanas: anantasana and vasistasana
