This session is an advanced progression from Supta virasana.  It is also a preparation for advanced back arches.  Supta virasana has many physiological benefits on the digestive and reproductive systems, it tones the hip joints, quadriceps, hamstrings, shins, calves and ankles, and is also used as a position for practicing Pranayama.  

This session works withe completely flexed knee.  those with knee ailments are advised caution.
