Description

Strengthening the arms and shoulders is good in itself. This is especially so for people with modern, sedentary lifestyles where these body parts are put to limited use, and exposed to even lesser challenges.  In the context of Asanas, strengthening of arms and shoulders is necessary for inversions, back arches and arm balances.  While the wrists are a much smaller joint, they are significantly involved in many of these Asana categories.  Wrists are not designed to do the load bearing that arms ad shoulders are designed for, because they can frequently become the bottleneck, being more prone to injuries.

This session approaches wrists, arms and shoulders through a series of weight bearing, and non- weight bearing positions and actions.  It can be scaled up and scaled down, and is thterefore accessible for practitioners at various levels
