Forward Extensions: The Role of Hand Binds

It can take significant amount of skill and practice to be able to go towards the ‘final position’ of seated forward extensions (such as paschimottanasana) in such a way that a feeling of quiet and relaxation is experienced. Then why do we introduce the complication of hand binds? This session is not strictly about getting the ‘technique’ of the forward extensions with the hand-bindings, but more an exploration of their role in changing the quality of the forward extension itself.
