Shoulder and shoulder blades are located quite close to each other in our bodies.  But these are two separate joints having quite distinct characteristics.  While the shoulder is a ‘ball and socket’ type joint that has a large rang o movement, the shoulder blades have a ‘sliding’ type of movement.  Their actions are often combined.  But unless we understand their movements distinctly, we cannot leverage the movements optimally.  For example, in the basic rope-work actions, movement of the shoulder blades can often camouflage stiffness of the shoulders.  This session includes multiple exercises/ drills to understand and appreciate the movements at the shoulder as distinct from the shoulder blades, and also to train these joints separately.  This not just prepares us for the more complex asanas, it helps us to target the specific areas for the health of the upper back-shoulder complex.

Note:
while this session is recommended to maintain full mobility and strength of hte shoulder/ shoulder-blade complex,  those who already have weakness/ injuries in these areas are advised caution in approaching this session.
